COMMONWEALTH GAMES - NEW DELHI 2010

Hi  WELCOME TO  MY  BLOG.  A small but significant  fact, most people including those in the Congress  party seem to have forgotten  is the 1982 Asian Games conducted in the same city with aplomb. The man responsible for this was the late SANJAY GANDHI, brother- in- law of the UPA Chairperson Mrs SONIA GANDHI and paternal uncle of RAHUL GANDHI. At that point he only had a few years of informal exposure and was not around at the time of the Games due to his untimely demise in1980. He was a man in a hurry and had a knack of picking the right people for a particular job which in this case was Mr.JAGMOHAN, the Lt. GOV. of Delhi who subsequently became GOVERNOR of JAMMU&KASHMIR.What i am trying to drive home in fact is that NEW DELHI was prepared for same well in time with most of the money spent, going into the infrastructure of the city and  biggest buildings includig flats being sold after use and the atheletic facilities used by sportsperson till date. In fact , SANJAY GANDHI's brother, the late Prime Minister whose name is being misused  by all and sundry, Shri RAJIV GANDHI's asset was his lack of experience in politics. This means he was open to new ideas unlike the seasoned politicians of today a majority of whom look upon politics as a means to increase their coffers. Exceptions are there in all parties. Mr SANJAY GANDHI  died due to his persoal follies though  Shri RAJIV GANDHI was murdered by people around him whom he trusted which is why only policemen were martyred with him including his personal bodyguard  Insp. GUPTA and no politician. A lot of water has flowed since and my sinciere wish is that both RAHUL and VARUN become pro-active and try to emulate what their father/uncle did while setting aside their flaws andseriously take issues affecting the country, even at the cost of over-riding a particular official / minister.

  1. Hi! Do you really think these two youngsters would be able to deliver the goods, considering they have the Sword of Damocles waiting to be hung over their heads ( in order to deprive them of their legitimate legacy to the Nehru dynasty), the moment they transgress away from the well beaten path of corruption, which is oh so prevalent in our country since time immemorial.
